Department Director’s recommendation. 6.3 If the department is prepared to recommend the telecommuting arrangement, the employee will read the IT Remote Access Policy and Agreement* and discuss the information systems arrangements in their alternate work location with the IT Department. The IT Department must give approval of the information systems arrangements prior to submitting the Telecommuting Agreement to the Human Resources Department for final approval. 6.4 Prior to the Telecommuting Agreement being approved by the Human Resources Department, the supervisor and a City safety representative will conduct an inspection of the alternate location workstation to ensure City safety standards are met. A Telecommuting Safety Site Checklist will be completed to determine approval of the telecommuting site. 6.5 After approval of the information systems and safety arrangements in the alternate work location, the Department Director will submit the recommended Telecommuting Agreement to the Human Resources Director for approval. The department must attach a copy of the approved IT Remote Access Policy and Agreement and the approved Telecommuting Safety Site Checklist to the Telecommuting Agreement. 6.6 After the Telecommuting Agreement is approved by the Human Resources Director, the employee will attend an orientation by the Human Resources Department (and others as deemed appropriate) before the employee begins to telecommute.
