Staffing 2023 Force Strength

The Emergency Communications Division had 75 emergency communications specialists (ECS) in 2023. The authorized ECS staffing was 89, including the supervisors and operations manager. This is a reduction in force, as four telecommunicator positions were allocated to other divisions within GM911. The average vacancy per month for this year was 18 ECS positions. Six new ECSs were hired in 2023. In 2023, three ESCs resigned, two retired, one transferred, and one was dismissed. We ended the calendar year with 14 vacancies.
