RECREATION CENTER DAY CAMP 5-12 years | M-F | 7:30 am to 6 pm $$$ If your family needs afordability and convenience, you can’t beat the recreation center day camp. We ofer camps at nine centers citywide, early-morning drop-of hours, and free lunch and breakfast for kids for just $85 per week. Fee assistance for families with fnancial need is also available. Kids, ages 5 to 12, in these camps also get special sessions from professionals across the department. They’ll learn camp songs, explore the gardens, learn how to golf, and perfect their cannon balls alongside experienced staf. “All our staf are teachers or work in some atmosphere with kids. It’s not just college kids. It’s people with experience,” said Warnersville summer camp director Laronica Vance. CAMP JOY 5+ years | M-F | 9 am to 3 pm $$ If you have a family member 5 years old or older with a disability, Camp Joy is a great way to get an inclusive summer camp experience. Camp Joy, located at Hagan-Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, has arts and crafts, fshing, daily swimming, and a camp talent show. There are special weeks for campers with developmental disabilities and visual and hearing impairments, but this camp is open for individuals of any ability. Fee assistance is available. * Families should take note: All summer camps can ofer adaptions for children who need an accommodation. Make sure to request inclusion services when you register so the department can better serve you. SUMMER STAY CAMP KITS 5-12 years | Pick up Physical Kit | Weekly Zoom Meeting $ Looking for the summer camp experience without going to camp? Look no further than Summer Stay Camp! Each week a new take home kit will be provided with fun activities including wellness education, age appropriate developmental activities, and creative play. All this with weekly Zoom meetings to interact with others. Physical kits with all materials included are $20. You can also get a digital without materials for $5. “This summer is the second year we will be providing the Summer Stay Camp opportunity for campers,” said Chamreece Diggs who oversees Summer Stay Camp. “We are excited to again provide a fun and educational opportunity for campers who feel more comfortable at home this summer.” ENERGY AT THE PARK 5-15 years | M-Th | 10 am to 2 pm FREE Don’t let the summer boredom set in. ENERGY at the Park provides free, supervised activities – and lunch – at fve neighborhood playgrounds. Sessions run June 21 until August 5. Sign up your 5 to 15-year-old up on-site at Hampton, Heath, Maywood, Sussman Street or Woodmere parks
