South Greensboro Area Plan - Public Review Draft - 9.25.25
MOVING AROUND 06
06.01 Mobility
CHAPTER CONTENTS
Mobility has and will continue to be one of the most important elements of life in south Greensboro. The study area is surrounded by major freeways. Streets and greenway connections are constrained by flood hazards, narrow rights of-way, or utilities. The US 421 corridor provides a direct connection to one of the most significant job centers in the state (the Toyota battery plant currently in operation and the Carolina Core strategic corridor for development). Draft
Mobility is more than just roads – it has to do with how easily people can get to the places they need to go, which modes of travel they choose to use, and improving safety for all users. Industrial uses, which constitute about half of the study area, require access to major highways and collector streets for distribution and other logistics. Randleman Road, with its pattern of automobile-oriented land uses and development types, serves as the area’s primary vehicular corridor.
