Thematic Workshops

A Community Advisory Committee of 12 stakeholders met regularly to provide guidance, review draft materials, and shape plan recommendations. This group helped ground the plan in lived experience, and their input was integrated at each phase of the project. Stakeholder Interviews and Focus Groups The planning team conducted in-depth interviews and hosted stakeholder focus groups with representatives from local businesses, faith-based organizations, immigrant communities, environmental advocates, local artists, local developers and civic groups. These sessions captured specific challenges, opportunities, and recommendations from those with deep ties to south Greensboro.

Five workshops were held, each centered around themes about what matters most to the community. These workshops served as both input and co-creation sessions to refine goals and generate community-driven solutions.

Business Canvassing

The team conducted door-to-door outreach to local businesses along key commercial corridors to understand their priorities, hear concerns, and invite participation in the planning process. This helped identify immediate needs as well as long-term ideas.
