Greenways 01 Greenway Network from Downtown

14 Temporary In-street Pedestrian Walkways Explore the feasibility of installing temporary pedestrian walkways within the travelway of some City streets in strategic locations where curb-to-curb widths, driveway locations, or other factors allow. Prioritize connections from neighborhoods to parks, schools, and commercial centers. Some segments for initial consideration include: » South side of Mystic Drive. » Lynhaven Drive between Creek Ridge Road and Mystic Drive. » Montcastle Drive east of S Elm Eugene. » Galway Drive and Castlerock Road from Frazier Elementary School to Shannon Hills Park. » Clark Avenue from Ryan Creek Greenway to Randleman Road.

Extend the greenway network from Downtown along Randleman Road as a shared use path from Florida Street/Sussman Park to Creek Ridge Road. 02 Implement the Future Greenway Plan Identify priority greenway corridors for feasibility studies. » Conduct feasibility study and phasing plan for greenway implementation; include analysis of constructability and maintenance costs. » Develop a greenway maintenance planning and funding strategy for the area, including portions within the floodplain. » Consider public-private partnership (similar to the Downtown model) for greenway network extension in this area. 03 Priority Greenway Segments along Ryan Creek » Along Ryan Creek - Prioritize connecting the northern terminus of the Greenhaven greenway to Randleman Road at Creek Ridge Road, with flood mitigation, such as employing green infrastructure techniques, in new parkland along Creek Ridge Road. » From Glendale Drive and Rehobeth Church Road to Ryan and Buffalo Creek. 04 Priority Greenway Crossings at Streets Improve greenway crossings at street intersections for safety, comfort, and continuous travel; improvements should include: wayfinding, landscaping, lighting, high visibility crosswalk pavement markings. » Rehobeth Church Road just south of Castlerock Road. » Vandalia Road at Rocky Knoll Road.
