APPENDIX B: Approved Certifications for Self-Supported Department Technical Staff:

The below certifications are recommended for Self-Supported Department support staff. It is understood that other professional development certifications or training may be required to adequately maintain and support the licensed technology solutions within the organizational entity. 1. A+ Certification • The A+ certification demonstrates competency as a computer technician. Officially, CompTIA A+ certification is a vendor-neutral certification that covers numerous technologies and operating systems from such vendors as Microsoft, Apple Inc., Novell and some of the Linux distributions 2. Network + Certification • CompTIA Network+ validates the technical skills needed to securely establish, maintain and troubleshoot the essential networks that businesses rely on. 3. Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate • Modern desktop administrators deploy, configure, secure, manage, and monitor devices and client applications in an enterprise environment. 4. Cisco Certified Technician • Cisco Certified Technicians have the skills to diagnose, restore, repair, and replace critical Cisco networking and system devices at customer sites.
