GREENSBORO PLAN2PLAY MASTER PLAN - 97

for people to participate in their own time and space. This captures a broader audience and can build trust as community members find value in time and effort elicited by City staff to seek out their opinions. As long as engagement opportunities are publicized this strategy still allows those with something to say, who would be most likely to attend a public meeting, to have a forum to voice their concerns • Diversify engagement strategies across time, space, and format - Engagement should take many forms and be found in many venues across the city. This includes both online and in-person. From boards in recreation centers, libraries, or other central civic locations, to social media sites, to pop-up events the more diversified the strategy the more likely you are to receive more inclusive and robust input. • Involve Department staff of all levels throughout the process - The diversified approach outlined above takes input from a broad array of individuals. This may include librarians,

recreation center directors, or program coordinators. Taking the burden off of a few individuals, and empowering the entire Department's staff and volunteers allows for a more inclusive, rich, and dynamic process. • Measure Success - Develop metrics and collect data to evaluate the success of the engagement policy over time and to continuously refine it.
