#4: EXPAND Create Community Hearts
e Assess the feasibility for new indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities.
e Create themed transformational programs pilots at each recreation center. e Expand the Department's mobile programming buses beyond the Eco Bus. Consider adding mobile recreation for pup-up events related to fitness, arts, or games. e Review all existing partnership agreements and revise to better align with Department mission and need for programs and services. e Hire an individual with a dedicated position related to grant writing, fundraising, and partnerships. e Expand greenway trail mileage based on available funding and community loop greenway master plan. e Expand density and diversity of a quarter of trail offerings within isolated parks. e Expand blueway mileage to at least one other lake. e Install clear consistent signage and trail mileage markers along greenways based on greenway rebranding. e Build new sidewalk and pedestrian crossing infrastructure at key parks and trailheads that have access safety concerns. e Implement bike and scooter storage infrastructure at key trailhead and park locations. e Improve park and facility access by adding bus routes and stops, including park and ride solutions at trailheads. e Establish and ADA self-evaluation and transition plan as a demonstration of Greensboro's commitment to providing equal access to it's public programs, services, facilities, and activities. e Continue to make accessibility upgrades to existing parks and facilities.
