Downtown

The regions are divided along major arteries that run through the city: • NE Region: The NE Region is the largest region with the fewest number of parks, a total of 1,105 acres of parkland. Bryan Park is 798 acres and skews the total acreage due to its size. • NW Region: The NW Region encompasses many trails and greenway system. The NW Region also has the most maintenance facilities in all region (a total of 5). • SE Region: While the SE Region is the smallest with only 440 acres of parkland, it encompasses the downtown area, which does require significant resources and support due to high visibility and high use. There is an opportunity for the downtown area to split into its own region in the future if the demand increases. • SW Region: Currently, the western edge of the SW Region has limited open spaces, but the area is projected to grow the most in the city.
