The City of Greensboro is located in central piedmont North Carolina, midway between Washington, D.C. andAtlanta. TheTownwas incorporatedin1808 andis the county seatofGuilfordCounty.Greensboro has an estimated population of 307,381 and

presently covers a landareaof approximately 140.2 square miles. Since 2020, the population has increased by 3.9% and approximately 5 square miles were added, an increase of 3.7 percent.

The City ofGreensboro population has increasedapproximately 14% from 2010 - 2024. The City is racially and culturally diverse. Themajority ofresidents are aged 25 to 64 yearsold, making up nearly half of the population.

Unemployment rates for the City have declined steadily over the last 10 years. However, in 2020, there was a sharp increase in unemployment rates, due largely to COVID-19.
