XTREME TEEN ADVENTURE WEEK 12-15 years | M-F | 8 am to 4 pm T oo old for summer camp, but not old enough for full summer independence? This outdoor adventure program is for teens that are ready to test their limits and try new things. The program is based at Lake Higgins, but the group will travel around to try the best sailing, kayaking, hiking, climbing, and other outdoor recreation opportunities our region has to offer. Two identical sessions are available this summer: June 20-24 and July 18-22. Limit one week per child. ENERGY AT THE PARK 5-15 years | M-Th | 10 am to 2 pm Don’t let the summer boredom set in. ENERGY at the Park provides free, supervised activities – and lunch – at four neighborhood playgrounds. Sessions run June 20 until August 5. Try one of the service-learning programs. Greensboro Youth Council Service Learning Camp offers two sessions in which high-schoolers can explore the topic of poverty while earning service learning hours. The Counselor in Training (CIT) program offers teens a chance to gain real work experience, service learning hours, and leadership skills at one of Parks and Recreation’s summer camp locations. CIT takes place at Community Recreation Centers and specialty camp locations throughout the ci y.
