August SwingPhiSwing Social Fellowship and Back to School Jam Free school items for the first 100 students to use for their return to school. There will be fun activities and a mini career fair to expose young people to the unlimited opportunities of career fields for their future. Ages 5-17 | August 16 | 10 am to 3 pm | Glenwood Recreation Center Join us for a free, family friendly movie under the stars. We will be joined by our friends with the Greensboro Police Department grill team serving up hot dogs fresh from the grill. September 6 | 7:45 pm | Hester Park NC Folk Fest The NC Folk Fest is where musical traditions meets bold new beats. Expect an eclectic mix of genres from funk, folk, soul, indie, roots, Latin, and more from local legends and global stars alike. September 12 | 5-10 pm | September 13 | 12 noon to 10 pm | September 14 | 12 noon to 5 pm | Downtown Greensboro Guilford Native American Association Pow Wow We are partnering with the Guilford Native American Association for the annual Pow Wow. Come experience Native American culture through dances, music, art, storytelling, clothing, and socializing. September 20 | 1-3 pm | Glenwood Recreation Center Greensboro Pride Festival The Greensboro Pride Festival transforms downtown into a colorful space with live entertainment, diverse food, local vendors, and activities that celebrate unity and diversity. Greensboro Pride is one of the largest LGBTQIA2+ events in the region, attracting individuals, families, and allies of all. September 20 | 11 am to 6 pm | Downtown Greensboro Open House and Wellness & Resource Fair Celebrate National Senior Center Month with an Open House at the Smith Center. Tour the center, try the equipment in the fitness room, participate in various exercise demonstrations, and talk with vendors who specialize in wellness products and services, as well as various community resources. There will also be food, goody bags, door prizes, old medicine collection, and flu shots. September 25 | 10 am to 1 pm | Smith Active Adult Center | 336-373-7564 Downtown Greenway Run & Block Party Join us on Saturday, September 27 from 4-7 pm in LoFi Park for the 16th Annual Downtown Greenway Run & Block Party! Choose your distance and register to walk or run in the 1-mile or 5K event. Everyone is welcome to attend the block party - and bring your friends, family, kids, and dogs!
