Greensboro Parks and Recreation has launched its first new sport league in more than a decade – Greensboro

Parks and Recreation departments across the county are contemplating esports league options as private organizations and colleges have proven there is a demand for this kind of play. Esports. “The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is excited to expand its roster of family-friendly, competitive sport leagues with Greensboro Esports. This is going to be a great way to bring our community’s gamers together to develop their skills, make connections with new people, and have a blast doing it,” said Parks and Recreation Director Nasha McCray. The inaugural season started summer 2021, offering people aged 7 to adult to join game play for Madden 21, NBA 2K21, Fortnite, or Rocket League 2v2. New, six-week seasons start year-round, and games offered will change. There are separate age brackets for children and adults.
