Discover Greensboro Fall 2021

New toys and cash donations, which will be used to shop for additional gifts, are also welcome. WANTED: TOYS AND HELPFUL TEENS

There is nothing like a gift to brighten someone’s day. With the Greensboro Youth Council’s Santa’s Workshop, local teens get to experience that special joy. The teen-led service organization will host its annual gift-giving program beginning November 8. Residents have until December 3 to donate cash or toys for the program. Each year, Santa’s Workshop provides holiday presents for 200-plus local families, who are identified by local service agencies. GYC’s teen leaders and volunteers have been running the program for more than 40 years! Santa’s Workshop is a great reason to clean out toy chests for items children no longer use. The program accepts a wide variety of used items – such as games, puzzles, electronics, dolls, or sports equipment. Just make sure all the pieces are incorporated, each item is in good working order, and they are relatively clean.

DONATE: Drop your new or gently used toys for children 6 months to 13 years old November 8 to December 3 at the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. Visit www.greensboro- nc.gov/SantasWorkshop for more donation locations or to give a monetary donation. VOLUNTEER: Greensboro Youth Council is looking for teen volunteers to assist with cleaning and sorting toys. Visit www. greensboroyouthcouncil.com to sign up.
