part of the AASLH Leadership in History Awards, the national organization’s most prestigious recognition for achievement in the preservation of state and local history. The City of Greensboro’s Budget and Evaluation Department received the national Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget from the Government Finance Officers Association. This is the seventh consecutive year the City has received this honor. The award reflects the commitment to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, Greensboro had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well the City’s budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
