City Employee Political Activity
Greensboro City Ordinance 21-8 explicitly prohibits employees from seeking political office for a position in the City of Greensboro or Guilford County while they are employed at the City. Greensboro City Policy B-8 states the City’s prohibition against a City employee from becoming a candidate for election to political office for a position in the City of Greensboro or Guilford County. North Carolina General Statute §160A-169 ensures that City employees are not subjected to political or partisan coercion while performing their job duties, to ensure that employees are not restricted from political activities while off duty, and to ensure that public funds are not used for political or partisan activities.
