1 The proposal includes adaptive reuse of the existing home, a strong emphasis on community agriculture, and the introduction of appropriately scaled new housing that fronts onto both the urban agriculture area and a small commercial facility. The corner of Vandalia Road and S. Elm Eugene Street will be activated through urban agriculture and potential infill development— such as faith-based affordable housing— integrated with the planned improvements along Vandalia Road.
