South Greensboro Area Plan - Public Review Draft - 9.25.25
Draft
Three specific locations have been identified along the Ryan Creek Greenway where informal concrete paths connect residential streets. These paths, situated between single-family homes, have become worn over time, with deteriorating chain-link fences and overgrown vegetation along their edges. It is proposed that these spaces be converted into safe, well-designed bicycle and pedestrian connectors. As part of this strategy, exploring ownership and right-of-way will be important. This transformation would provide more direct access to the greenway, eliminating the need for detours via Vandalia Road. The accompanying images show the simple yet impactful potential of improvements for neighborhood connectivity. Neighborhood Greenway Connections
These spaces are currently unimproved, unsightly pathways with overgrown vegetation, but represent key opportunities to improve connectivity to the greenway.
