Segment 2 - City Project Area

Segment 3 - Planned Extension Long range plans show the extension of Vandalia Road east of Pleasant Garden Road and the realignment of Edgemont Road to connect to the extension. Housing is also planned for this large area of vacant land. The details of this roadway design is yet to be determined.

Extent of current City of Greensboro roadway project. Redesign the current two-lane corridor as a more appropriate three-lane (center turn lane) corridor with bike lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and pedestrian ADA curb ramps.

The extension of Vandalia Road east of Pleasant Garden Road is shown in the Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (GUAMPO) Thoroughfare and Collector Street Plan. However, further study is needed to ensure it is multimodal and does not result in an undue traffic volume burden on local communities in favor of regional access and connectivity. The extension will be evaluated as development of the area is proposed.
