Endorsements, Restrictions, and Fees

Endorsements :

• H - Authorizes driving a vehicle transporting hazardous materials. ** • T - Authorizes driving double trailers. • P - Authorizes driving vehicles carrying passengers. ** • N - Authorizes driving tank vehicles. • X - Represents a combination of hazardous materials and tank vehicle endorsement. ** • M - Authorizes driving a motorcycle. • S - Authorizes driving a school bus. (Driver must also have P endorsement)

Restrictions :

• L - Restricts the driver to vehicles not equipped with air brakes. • Z - Restricts the driver to vehicles not equipped with full air brakes (Air over hydraulic system) • E - Restricts the driver to automatic transmissions • K - Intrastate only. • O - Restricts Class A drivers to “No tractor trailers”. • X - Restricts the driver to “No cargo in CMV tank vehicle”

All commercial driver licenses will be issued for five years except for certified school bus operators. Certified school bus operators will be issued for three years.
