Program Gaps A program gap analysis was conducted for several services the Department offers. The analysis included Department offerings in indoor athletics, outdoor athletics, arts and culture, and senior center programs. In order to understand any overlaps or duplication of services within Greensboro, the analysis reviewed an inventory of programs run in-house by the Department, outsourced or co-sponsored with partners using departmental facilities, similar external service providers at non- departmental facilities and national and regional programming trends.
Indoor Athletics Programs Table 5 displays the indoor athletic programming being offered in the community, from a variety of sources. Gaps: The indoor athletics programs that are being run by similar external service providers that are not being run by the Department or fulfilled through outsourced or co-sponsored programs within the Department's facilities include:
While the Department does not operate or have access to any indoor baseball batting cages, this program is being offered in the community by another type of provider. Alternatively, the Department is offering youth and adult in-line hockey leagues, which are not being offered elsewhere in the community.
