Greensboro Plan2Play Parks and Recreation Master Plan 2019
GREENSBORO PLAN2PLAY MASTER PLAN - 57
The City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Facilities and Amenities Today Greensboro’s parks and recreation services are provided to the community within the context of other related public and private offerings as well. In order to assess the community’s overall gaps in recreation service, the existing facility inventory was updated, a similar providers inventory was developed, and community needs were informed using both benchmarks and preferences expressed in the community survey. The inventory review took into account the total number of facilities that the Department owns and maintains, as well as those that it has access to through their shared used partnership with the Guilford County School System. Figure 35 displays the total number of city assets, across all locations, that can be used for programming by the Department. Some of these assets are grouped together
in a single location. For instance, the 67 tennis courts are distributed across the city in 16 locations, the 42 diamond fields can be found in 33 locations; the 42 multipurpose fields (indoor and outdoor) are in 7 locations; and the 26 indoor courts are in 12 locations. It is important to note that of the 23 basketball courts listed, 6 are half-courts:
