e Create a deferred maintenance and ADA compliance plan for all Department assets to identify funding mechanisms and priority facilities for renovations and upgrades. e Begin upgrades to basic infrastructure within and in proximity to parks and facilities, including new benches, signage and playground equipment, starting with neighborhood/census tracts with the highest identified need. e Continue phased regional park upgrades to Barber Park, Keeley Park and Hester Park and phased renovations to Gateway Gardens. e Implement master plan renovations at Griffin Community Park, Peeler Community Park, and Smith Community Park. e Develop design strategy and phasing/funding timeline for upgrades to special sites, community parks, and facilities including Gillespie Golf Course, Bryan Park, Carolyn Allen Park, and the Sportsplex. e Analyze and identify a primary lake facility for significant renovations. e Complete Piedmont Discovery park locater app in collaboration with High Point and Guilford County. e Develop a palette of amenities that provide more unique park experiences such as nature play, environmental education resources, community gardens, games, and other options developed together with the community as a means to add character and vibrancy to the system’s many neighborhood parks. e Identify 10 neighborhood parks for upgrades and begin outreach with neighborhoods that surround these parks to ensure the park upgrades meet community needs and aspirations. Parks previously identified for upgrades that should be included within this near-term priority are: Sussman Park, Steelman Park, and Heath Park. e Explore techniques to expand funding including establishing a defined capital funding stream within the Department's annual budget. e Expand existing GIS database, continue to evaluate park access and equitable distribution of amenities.

e Centralize registration to one system. Train staff to use the system and reduce stress for registration periods. e Develop a comprehensive program catalog that is easy to read and accessible online and in facilities. e Hire dedicated marketing and communications staff and either train or hire dedicated RecTrac staff. e Create a marketing plan and track marketing effectiveness quarterly. e Offer all program and class registration online. e Develop a brand and signage standard manual and environmental graphics guide.
