Connect: Connect and Empower Individuals Across the Department SUPPORTING PARTIES + PARTNERS • Contract Vendors KEY PROJECTS & TIMEFRAME Near-term (0-5 years) • Implement POD region reorganization. • Identify and develop infrastructure needs for region reorganization. • Offer professional development to ease reorganization efforts. • Anticipate retirements and up-train existing employees where relevant. • Plan to address existing staffing gaps, particularly around recreation centers, fundraising, and marketing.

Long-term (10-20 years) • Create a benchmark summary and update Plan2Play in FY 2027-2028 to comply with best practices by engaging staff to strategically evaluate the expanded reach into new areas of need and programming.

• Evaluate trail crew and staffing. Create separate crews with additional horticultural training, or consider contract maintenance, for the Downtown Greenway. • Research and provide staff training and development on key systems that are already in place within the Department, but not fully implemented such as RecTrac, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) work orders, scheduling systems, and other policies. Mid-term (5-10 years) • Continue to develop infrastructure needs related to reorganization

• Repeat staff satisfaction survey.
