Connect: Improve Connectivity to Parks SUPPORTING PARTIES + PARTNERS • Greensboro Department of Transportation

• Review bus routes and stops for connectivity to parks and implement changes to improve access to parks and facilities. • Collaborate with bike / scooter ride- share programs to maximize their benefit in a safe manner consistent with GSO pedestrian access standards. • Assess key connectivity issues and high need areas for sidewalk and bike connectivity improvements. • Partner with local bike shops to provide mountain bike rentals at trailheads, consider creating a "recreation hub" at Lake Brandt Marina. Mid-term (5-10 years) • Build new sidewalk and pedestrian crossing infrastructure at key parks and trailheads that have access safety concerns. • Implement bike and scooter storage infrastructure at key trailhead and park locations.

• Improve park and facility access by adding bus routes and stops, including park and ride solutions at trailheads. Long-term (10-20 years) • Connect all parks and recreation centers to adjacent community resources such as schools, greenways, cultural destinations, and high density housing through a safe and continuous sidewalk network. • Update Plan2Play beginning in 2026 for approval in 2028.
