Action 6c. Continue to Support Significant Partnership Arrangements Explore expansion of Greensboro Beautiful’s role - Greensboro Beautiful, Inc. currently focuses on providing support to the public gardens, city-wide clean- ups, and tree planting. If resources allow, Greensboro Beautiful, Inc. should consider expanding its current programs to include educational programs. Similar nonprofit organizations in other cities support the public spaces with in-house plant growing operations, and provide their local gardens and parks with plants. Re-energize the Friends of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Foundation - Connect members of the Friends of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Foundation with Greensboro Beautiful, Action Greensboro, and other successful non-profit local organizations. Develop a “lessons learned” strategy and action plan with the aim of making Friends of the Parks a recognizable and powerful brand within the city. The Foundation should become more proactive in the community, increase its visibility, and expand its mission. The Foundation should be an

Upgrade the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market to keep the partnership viable - Greensboro Farmers Market, Inc. (GFM) operates the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market on behalf of the City of Greensboro. GFM is a 501c3 nonprofit. Through its operation of this historical facility, GFM provides greater Greensboro with opportunities to purchase and learn about local foods in a friendly and diverse social setting.
