January 23 for 23 Winter Workout Challenge Let’s welcome the new year with 23 miles. From January 1 through January 31, we are encouraging you to walk, run, bike, or boat 23 miles. Everyone who completes the challenge will be entered to win a Parks and Recreation prize package worth about $200. February 2 | 10:30 am to 12 noon | Peeler Recreation Center Bridging The Triad In celebration of National Engineers Week, residents from Greensboro and surrounding Triad cities will host Bridging the Triad, a competition to see who can create the most efficient popsicle stick bridge. The Greensboro Parks and Recreation department will provide free supplies to kids and adults who participate. Come show off your best building skills! March Battle of Guilford Courthouse Reenactment Country Park hosts the Reenactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, a Revolutionary War battle. Reenactors come from all over the east coast to participate. The Guilford Courthouse National Military Park has demonstrations and educational talks throughout this weekend. March 11-12 | 10 am to 5 pm | Country Park Calling all the dogs! Our four-legged friends will be able to hunt for treat-filled eggs, take home a pet friendly craft, compete in a costume contest, and visit with the animal friendly vendors on site. All canine visitors must arrive leashed and be up to date on vaccinations. April 1 | 9 am to 12 Noon | Griffin Recreation Center Chalk Walk Join us for our 3rd annual Chalk Walk art competition.
