You’d be surprised what you can do with a stack of Popsicle sticks and a bottle of Elmer’s glue. If you’ve got the design chops and the engineering know-how, you can turn those run-of-the-mill craft supplies into a bridge that can hold more than 100 pounds! That’s the STEM challenge the Greensboro Parks and Recreation and four neighborhood towns put to kids and adults every year with Bridging the Triad. It’s in honor of National Engineer’s Week. Free supplies will be available

January 14, 2022 at Griffin Recreation Center. Competition begins February 5. Now in its fifth year, the annual competition provides free supplies to participants in Greensboro, High Point, Kernersville, Thomasville, and Win- ston-Salem. The goal is to have your bridge hold the most weight for your age division. “The bridges just keep getting better and better,” says Greensboro Facilities Cooridinator Chamreece Diggs, who helped develop the contest with partner agencies. “Every year there is
