Discover Greensboro Winter/Spring 2022

Break out of the winter gloom and celebrate spring at the 2022 Chalk Walk at the Greensboro Arboretum. In its second year, this event is a competition and an opportunity for all people to enjoy art in the park. No professional skills required! Don’t worry if chalk and pavement aren’t your medium of choice. This is a friendly competition with categories for kids, teens, adults, and teams. “We were wowed by the beautiful work the artists made in 2021. We had a few professionals, but most were just talented amateurs of all ages,” Jennifer Hance, Parks and Recreation community engagement coordinator. “It turned into a great opportunity for families or groups of friends to get outside and play.”

Not an artist? Get down here to watch the artists work. You’ll even get to pick your favorite – a special prize goes to the fan favorite. “The artists also got to take time to talk with visitors about their technique and vision for their piece. It is a true community experience.”
