Join us this summer as we celebrate 40 years of Parks and Recreation Month and as we recognize the more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals, plus hundreds of thousands of part-time workers and volunteers, that maintain our country’s parks and facilities. July 1-31 Fun Fourth Festival & Run Celebrate America's birthday with the annual Fun Fourth Festival in downtown Greensboro. Adult Recess Mark your calendars, arrange the baby sitters, and rally your friends. Adult Recess is back! Adult Recess is a 21+ only FREE event that allows adults to be kids for a night. This year we return to Barber Park Sprayground. There will be nostalgic playground games, a DJ playing all the old hits, food and beverage vendors, complete access to the sprayground, and so much more. July 11 | 6-9 pm | Barber Park Music for a Sunday Evening in the Park Head outside and join Creative Greensboro for an evening of music for the entire family from local performers. July 13 | Country Park Shelter #4 | 6-8 pm July 27 | Lindley Park | 6-8 pm Movie in the Park Join us as we celebrate Parks and Recreation month with a free, family friendly movie under the stars. We will be joined by our friends with the Greensboro Police Department grill team serving up hot dogs fresh from the grill. July 19 | 8:15 pm | Hester Park Chalk Walk Join us for our 5th-annual Chalk Walk art competition. Register to participate as an artist or just stroll around Gateway Gardens and enjoy the artwork. Judged categories include best youth, teen, adult, group, and fan favorite. Judging will take place during the Maker's Way at Gateway on Sunday, July 27. July 26 | 9 am to 5 pm | Gateway Gardens Vance Chavis Summer Block Party Party down at the Vance Chavis Branch Library and enjoy a bounce house, vibes, games, and tunes with a live DJ.
