August Griffin Recreation Center's 8th Anniversary Griffin is turning eight years old on August 16. That entire week, we will have raffles to win prizes like gift cards, fitness memberships, and more. Also, we will have healthy snacks in the morning for visitors that come to the center. August 15-19 | Griffin Recreation Center | All Day Back to School This great event is for the surrounding community to come get school supplies for their kids and enjoy great games, food, and activities. Materials such a bookbags, notebooks, pens, pencils, and more will be available for free. August 27 | Warnersville Recreation Center | 12 noon Septemeber Greensboro Youth Council Open House GYC will host it's annual open house to share information for teens interested in serving their community through unique youth-run events. September 7 | Gateway Gardens | 5:30 pm Dog Day at Keeley Park Sprayground We are closing out summer with a splash. Bring your dogs to the Dog Dayat Keeley Park Spray ground. Admission is $5 for each dog. From small to large dogs, let your dogs run around, meet other canines, and of course, take a break from the heat. September 10 | 1:30-3:30 pm

Open House/Health & Wellness Fair Tour Greensboro's newest active adult center, try the equipment in the fitness room, participate in various exercise demonstrations, and talk with vendors who specialize in health and wellness products and services. Flu shots and collection of your outdated medicines will be available on site. The event is free and open to anyone ages 50 and better. September 20 | Trotter Active Adult Center | 10 am Guilford County Native American Pow Wow We are partnering with the Guilford Native Amer ican Association for the annual Pow Wow. Come experience Native American culture through dances, music, art, storytelling, clothing, and socializing. September 16-18 | Country Park | 5 pm October Carolina Adaptive Standing Tennis Tournament Come watch standing adaptive tennis athletes compete. The tournament will be held October 7-9.
