EVIDENCE STATISTICS

GPO was awarded the CVIP Grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance in November 2022. Since that time GPD's Office of Community Engagement has partnered with the City of Greensboro, Office of Community Safety to evaluate the Community Connectors and add critical components of service coordination for high-risk individuals to the program.

Firearms Received: 1,537 Total Items in Custody: 367,511

Recovered Money Distributed to Guilford County Schools: $26,121.88

ForceMetrics In 2023, GPD teamed up with ForceMetrics, a data-driven software that allows officers in the field access to crucial information in a timely manner. This program integrates itself with our already built-in database to simplify the users’ process. Real-Time Intelligence Center The Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) was a collaborative effort in funding from Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), current assets already owned by the agency, and even other City Departments, such as City Information Technology, who were able to contribute to the overall goal of enhancing public safety through technology. The RTIC was able to quickly build partnerships with commercial businesses, local universities, apartment complexes, and industrial establishments. They have already integrated over 1,000 video streams from partnerships, and are continuing to grow every week. Immediately, with the first month of their being staffed with sworn Detectives, they were able to generate actionable leads for five of Greensboro’s homicides.

In September of this year, the Greensboro Police Foundation purchased two Mobile Video Trailers (MVT) for the Greensboro Police Department, a gift worth $54,000. The MVTs are self-contained and self-powered camera platforms that can be deployed anywhere to monitor hundreds of square feet of area. The GPO will use the MVTs during large crowd events; the video footage will feed directly into their Real Time Intelligence Center where it can be shared throughout the department.
